Overview
The European Banking Authority (EBA) is an independent EU authority established on 1 January 2011 under Regulation (EC) No. 1093/2010. Position: Bank Expert (Crisis Management)
Core Responsibilities
- Facilitate the efficient functioning of cross-border cooperation among supervisors.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of recovery and resolution tools for cross-border banking groups.
- Provide guidance to supervisors on crisis management tools, including recovery plans, resolution strategies, and resolution colleges.
- Participate in the development of technical standards and guidelines for supervisory cross-border cooperation.
- Support internal EBA committees and subgroups.
- Prepare policy stances and provide advice on supervisory cooperation and crisis management.
- Carry out other tasks as required.

Eligibility Criteria
General Requirements
- Must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
- Must have full citizen rights.
- Must have fulfilled any military service obligations.
- Must be physically fit for the role.
- Must provide a certificate of no criminal record and pass a medical examination.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
- Must have completed university studies (with a diploma) and at least one year of relevant professional experience, or
- Must have completed university studies with a longer duration (four years or more) and no additional professional experience required.
- Must have at least 10 years (for 3-year education) or 9 years (for 4-year education) of relevant full-time professional experience, including at least 3 years in a comparable position in financial regulation or supervision.
Selection Procedure
- A selection committee will evaluate applications based on CV, motivation letter, and eligibility criteria grid.
- Shortlisted candidates may be invited to written tests and interviews.
- Written tests are in English and assess communication, knowledge, and drafting skills. Minimum score: 6 out of 10.
- Interviews are in English and assess suitability, knowledge, and motivation. Minimum score: 6 out of 10.
- Successful candidates are ranked by merit, with the highest scorers being recruited. Candidates scoring 12 or above are placed on a reserve list valid until 31 December 2014.
Employment Conditions
- Contract type: Temporary agent fixed-term contract (3 years), with a 6-month probation period and possible extension.
- Expected start date: 1 December 2013.
- Grade: AD 8.
- Estimated monthly basic salary: €6,299.95.

- Correction coefficient of 34.4% for UK staff.
