Main Purpose

The Bank Expert will contribute to the development of EBA policies and methodologies for supervisory approaches, as well as support the implementation and assessment of these policies. The role involves advising, assessing, and promoting convergence in banking supervision across the EU.

Main Responsibilities

Prepare policy stances and provide advice on supervisory work
Develop and complete guidelines, binding technical standards, or other policy products
Support internal committees and subgroups
Provide implementation advice and training
Contribute to assessments of policy implementation and convergence
Represent the EBA at external meetings
Facilitate consultations, impact assessments, and training
Perform other duties as required

Requirements

1. Eligibility Criteria

Language: Proficiency in one EU language and satisfactory knowledge in another
Nationality: EU Member State or EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) national
Civic Rights: Full rights as a citizen
Military Service: Obligations fulfilled
Fitness: Physically fit for the role
Criminal Record: Certificate confirming no criminal record required
Medical Examination: To meet Article 12(2)(d) of CEOS

2. Qualifications

Minimum of three years of university education with a recognized diploma
If obtained outside the EU, must be recognized by an EU/EEA authority
Relevant professional experience: At least 3 years, including 2 years in banking supervision or related areas

3. Language Skills

Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken)
Native English speakers must demonstrate second language proficiency

4. Selection Criteria

Knowledge of EU banking regulation
Understanding of supervisory risk assessments
Experience in designing or implementing banking regulation or supervisory policies
Proven experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders

Advantageous: Experience in multicultural or international environments

Appointment and Employment Conditions

Contract Type: Temporary agent fixed-term contract for 3 years with a probation period of 9 months and possible extension
Estimated Start Date: 1 November 2016
Function Group and Grade: Temporary agent 2(f) at grade AD 6
Salary: Estimated monthly basic salary of €5,079.70, with a full remuneration package as per Staff Regulations (Articles 62–70 and Annex VII)
