Overview

The expert will support resolution authorities, contribute to the development of technical standards and guidelines, and assist in the functioning of resolution colleges.
Main Responsibilities
- Contributing to the development and implementation of recovery and resolution tools for cross-border banking groups.
- Mapping best practices and resolution strategies for failing institutions.
- Promoting the effective functioning of resolution colleges and participating in their activities.
- Developing technical standards and guidelines related to crisis management.
- Supporting EBA internal committees and subgroups.
- Facilitating briefings for EBA representatives in meetings with external stakeholders.
- Preparing policy stances and providing policy advice on crisis management and resolution.
- Performing other related tasks as required.
Eligibility Criteria
General
- Fluency in one EU language and satisfactory knowledge of another.
- Nationality of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
- Full citizen rights, fulfilled military service obligations, and physical fitness.
Specific
Qualifications
- A university diploma with at least one year of relevant professional experience (if the normal university education is 3 years), or
- A university diploma with no additional experience required (if the normal university education is 4 years or more).
- Qualifications must be recognized by EU or EEA authorities, or equivalent.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 10 years (for a 3-year education) or 9 years (for a 4-year education) of full-time professional experience in financial regulation or supervision, with at least 3 years in a comparable role.
Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in a second EU language.
Selection Criteria
- Experience in bank supervision and/or resolution.
- Proven knowledge of EU banking regulation, especially as it relates to cross-border banks.
- Experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Required competencies include:

Selection Procedure

- Successful candidates are listed in order of merit, with the highest scorers being recruited. Those scoring 12 or above are placed on a reserve list valid until 31 December 2014.
Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract Type: Temporary fixed-term contract for three years, with a nine-month probation period and possible extension.
- Start Date: Expected to begin on 1 June 2014.
- Grade: AD 8, with an estimated monthly basic salary of €6,299.95.
- Employment Benefits:
- Exempt from national tax; Community tax is applied.
- Correction coefficient of 39.2% applies for the UK.
- Possible entitlement to allowances based on family situation and origin (e.g., expatriation, household, child, education, etc.).
- Annual leave: 2 days per month plus supplementary leave.
