The EBA is currently seeking an IT Technical Support Specialist to join its IT team in London, UK. This role is part of the EBA's efforts to maintain and support its IT infrastructure and administrative applications, which are critical to the functioning of the institution.
Main Responsibilities
- Serve as the single point of contact for EBA users regarding IT infrastructure and administrative applications.
- Provide first-line support for incidents and problems.
- Track, coordinate, and follow-up on incident resolution with IT service providers.
- Handle service requests such as software installations and access requests.
- Define and improve support processes, monitor KPIs, and maintain technical documentation and user manuals.
- Contribute to technical specifications, tender procedures, and IT infrastructure planning.
Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
- Must be physically fit and free from criminal records.
- Must have at least three years of university education and a diploma.
- If studies were completed outside the EU, the qualification must be recognized by an EU/EEA authority.
- Must have 6 years of full-time professional IT experience, including 4 years in a comparable role.
Language Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must demonstrate second language proficiency.
- Knowledge of other EU official languages is considered an advantage.
Selection Criteria
- Extensive experience in:
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, OS, and applications (Windows 7 or above).
- Troubleshooting system and network issues.
- Setting up user accounts and profiles (Microsoft Active Directory).
- Providing IT support in an international environment.
- Working knowledge of ITIL (incident/problem management) is an advantage.
- Must possess excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and promote innovation.
- Flexibility to take on additional tasks as required.
Selection Procedure
- A selection committee will evaluate applications based on CV, motivation letter, and eligibility criteria grid.
- Shortlisted candidates may be invited for written tests (English, 10 points, minimum 6 to pass) and interviews (English, 10 points, minimum 6 to pass).
- Successful candidates will be ranked by merit, with those scoring 12 or above placed on a reserve list valid until 31 December 2015.
- Conflict of interest declaration is required before recruitment.
Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract type: Fixed-term agent contract for three years, with a probation period of nine months and possible extension.
- Function group: Group IV, with an estimated monthly basic salary of €3,170.61.
- Remuneration package includes:
- Exemption from national taxes.
- Correction coefficient of 50.7% for UK-based staff.
- Benefits such as expatriation allowance, household allowance, and others based on family status and origin.
- Annual leave: 2 days per month, plus 2.5 days of supplementary home leave for expatriate staff.
- Pension, sickness, accident, unemployment, and invalidity insurance.
- Travel insurance for missions.
