Job Description
The IT Technical Support Specialist position is part of the EBA IT Unit, responsible for the operation and support of the EBA's IT infrastructure and administrative applications. This role involves:
- Providing first-line support for users regarding IT infrastructure and administrative applications.
- Coordinating incident and problem resolution with IT service providers.
- Acting as a single point of contact for service requests.
- Supporting user inquiries about MS Office and other office automation products.
- Defining and improving IT support processes.
- Monitoring KPIs for IT support.
- Drafting and maintaining technical documentation and user manuals.
- Participating in the planning and evaluation of IT maintenance activities.
- Assisting in the drafting and validation of technical designs for IT infrastructure.
- Contributing to user training on IT infrastructure and applications.
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Language: Proficiency in one EU language and satisfactory knowledge in another.
- Nationality: Must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
- Citizenship Rights: Full rights as a citizen.
- Military Obligations: Completed any applicable military service obligations.
- Physical Fitness: Fit to perform the duties of the position.
- Education: Completed university studies of at least three years, with a recognized diploma from an EU/EEA authority or equivalent.
2. Professional Experience
- At least 6 years of full-time professional experience in IT.
- At least 4 years in a comparable position.
- Experience in deploying and managing Windows on client devices.
- Experience in configuring and troubleshooting end-user devices (PCs, laptops, tablets).
- Experience in administering MS Exchange Server 2010 or above.
- Experience with MS Active Directory.
- Advantageous experience in software packaging/deployment (e.g., MS SCCM), ITIL, and providing IT support in an international environment.

Selection Procedure
- The selection process includes an eligibility check, written tests, and interviews.
- Written tests are in English, assessing communication, knowledge, and drafting skills. Minimum score: 6 out of 10.
- Interviews are in English, evaluating suitability, professional knowledge, and motivation. Minimum score: 6 out of 10.
- Successful candidates with a total score of 12 or above will be placed on a reserve list valid until 31 December 2016.
- Candidates must declare any conflict of interest before recruitment.
Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract Type: Fixed-term agent contract of three years, with a probation period of nine months and possible extension.
- Function Group: Group IV, with a minimum monthly basic salary of €3,246.70.
- Remuneration: Includes Community tax, expatriation allowance, household allowance, dependent child allowance, education allowance, installation allowance, and other benefits.
- Annual Leave: Two days per calendar month, plus additional days for age and grade, and 2.5 days of supplementary home leave for those receiving expatriation or foreign residence allowance.
- Pension and Insurance: Access to the EU Pension Scheme after 10 years of service, EU Joint Sickness and Insurance Scheme, accident and occupational disease insurance, unemployment and invalidity allowance, and travel insurance for missions.
