The European Banking Authority (EBA) is an independent EU authority established in 2011 to enhance the functioning of the EU internal market by ensuring high-quality, effective, and consistent regulation and supervision in the banking, payments, and e-money sectors. The EBA is currently seeking a Project Support Officer to be based in its London office. The role is crucial in supporting the EBA management in the planning, prioritisation, monitoring, execution, and follow-up of deliverables from the EBA's Work Programme.
Main Purpose
To support the EBA management in the effective execution and reporting of the Work Programme deliverables, including the preparation of the Annual Report.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain and use the EBA's project portfolio management tool.
- Assist in the design, planning, and reporting on the Work Programme.
- Identify milestones, track project progress, and flag risks.
- Help define metrics and develop standardised reporting tools.
- Prepare the next year's Work Programme.
- Respond to inquiries about the Work Programme.
- Contribute to the enhancement of internal project management processes.
- Perform any other tasks as required by the Head of Policy Analysis and Coordination Unit.
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
- Be entitled to full citizen rights and have fulfilled military service obligations.
- Be physically fit for the role.
- Provide a certificate of no criminal record and undergo a medical examination.
2. Qualifications
- Must have a university-level education (at least three years) with a diploma.
- Qualifications must be from EU, EEA, or recognised equivalent institutions.
- If obtained outside the EU, must be officially recognised by an EU/EEA authority.
3. Professional Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time professional experience in project or portfolio management.
- Experience is counted from the date of obtaining the relevant diploma up to the application deadline.
4. Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in a second EU language.
- Knowledge of other EU languages is an advantage.
Selection Criteria
- Proven experience in using, administering, and adapting portfolio management tools.
- Experience in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong drafting skills for reports.
- Ideal candidates have a qualification in Project or Portfolio Management.

Selection Procedure

Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract Type: Fixed-term contract of 3 years with a 9-month probation period, possibly extended.
- Starting Date: Expected 1 July 2014, with potential for early appointment.
- Function Group and Grade: Function Group IV, with a monthly basic salary of €3,145.45.
- Employment Benefits:
- Exemption from national tax; Community tax at source applies.
- Correction coefficient: 39.2%.
