The EBA is currently seeking a Bank Expert for a secondment position at its London office. The expert will support the EBA in its mission to promote financial stability, transparency, and the protection of depositors and investors, while also working to prevent regulatory arbitrage and enhance supervisory convergence.
Main Responsibilities
- Supporting the home-host coordination work of the EBA, including participation in colleges of supervisors for individual banking groups.
- Contributing to the development and coordination of recovery and resolution tools for cross-border banking groups.
- Providing feedback and guidance to NSAs on joint risk assessment and decision-making processes.
- Participating in the development of technical standards and guidelines related to the supervisory review process and cross-border cooperation.
- Supporting internal committees and subgroups, including acting as a chairperson.
- Performing other duties as required.
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Language proficiency: Thorough knowledge of one EU language and satisfactory knowledge of another.
- Nationality: Must be a national of an EU Member State, an EFTA Member State, or a country with which the Council has opened accession negotiations.
- Citizenship rights: Entitled to full rights as a citizen.
2. Qualifications
- Must have completed university studies of at least three years, evidenced by a diploma.
3. Professional Experience
- At least three years of full-time professional experience in bank regulation or banking supervision.
4. Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must demonstrate second language proficiency.
5. Selection Criteria
- Proven knowledge of EU banking regulation, particularly in cross-border supervision.
- Experience in cross-border supervisory cooperation in colleges.
- Experience in supervisory risk assessment processes.
- Experience in drafting supervisory policies, stances, or procedures.
- Experience in engaging with a wide range of EU stakeholders.

Appointment and Secondment Conditions

Conditions of Secondment
- The EBA will provide daily and monthly subsistence allowances, as determined annually by the Commission.
