Main Responsibilities of the Policy Expert (Quantitative Policy Analysis)
- Quantitative Analysis Leadership: Lead the development of quantitative analyses of prudential data (e.g., COREP, FINREP), ad hoc data collections, and QIS exercises.
- Policy Support: Support Policy Experts in the Regulation Department with quantitative analysis of regulatory matters.
- Report Development: Contribute to the development of reports and regulatory products.
- Internal Committees: Support internal committees and subgroups, including acting as a representative for the chairpersons.
- External Representation: Represent the EBA externally in international fora on a technical level.
Requirements for the Position
Eligibility Criteria
- Language Proficiency: Must know at least one EU language thoroughly and another satisfactorily. English is the working language.
- Nationality: Must be a national of an EU Member State or the European Economic Area (EEA).
- Legal and Health Status: Must be entitled to full citizen rights, have fulfilled military service obligations, and be physically fit.
- Education: Minimum of three years of university education, with a recognized diploma from an EU or EEA authority or an equivalent institution.
- Professional Experience: At least 3 years of relevant full-time experience, with at least 2 years in quantitative analysis within the prudential framework (e.g., supervision, policy analysis, regulatory work).
Selection Criteria
- Banking Regulation Experience: Proven experience in banking regulation, supervision, or capital requirement determination.
- Economics and Statistics Knowledge: Strong knowledge of economics and statistical research in banking and financial matters.
- Quantitative Skills: Excellent quantitative background.
- Data Analysis Experience: Experience with COREP/FINREP data, QIS-related data, or other financial data.
- EU Regulation Understanding: Good general knowledge of EU banking regulation.
- Writing and Communication Skills: Proven drafting skills and experience in report development.
- Presentation Skills: Experience in providing information and giving presentations on regulatory developments to management.

Selection Procedure

Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract Type: Temporary agent fixed-term contract of three years, with a nine-month probation period and possible extension.

- Function Group and Grade: Temporary agent 2(f) at grade AD 6.
- Salary: Estimated monthly basic salary of €4,960.64, with additional benefits depending on family situation and origin.
