Main Purpose

This includes the creation of technical standards, guidelines, opinions, and reports, as well as advising and monitoring their implementation across EU member states to ensure consistency and convergence in supervisory practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing policies related to supervisory convergence, particularly within the Pillar 2 framework (e.g., IRRBB, concentration risk).
- Participating in the development of guidelines, binding technical standards, or other policy products.
- Supporting internal committees and subgroups.
- Leading assessments of policy implementation and identifying effective convergence across the EU.
- Representing the EBA in external meetings and facilitating consultations, training, and impact assessments.
- Performing other duties as required.
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Language: Proficient in one EU language and satisfactory knowledge of another.
- Nationality: Must be a national of an EU member state or the EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway).
- Citizenship Rights: Must be entitled to full rights as a citizen.
- Military Service: Must have fulfilled any applicable military service obligations.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit for the role.
- Criminal Record: Must provide a certificate confirming no criminal record.
- Medical Examination: Required to meet the EBA's employment standards.
2. Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Completed university studies with a diploma, with the duration depending on the candidate's educational background (3 or 4 years).
- Professional Experience: At least 7 years (for 3-year education) or 6 years (for 4-year education) of relevant full-time experience, including at least 3 years in risk management, internal audit, or banking supervision/regulation.
3. Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in a second EU language.
4. Selection Criteria
- Knowledge of EU banking regulation, especially in cross-border supervision.
- Experience in developing or applying risk assessment methodologies for Pillar 2.
- Proven experience in drafting or designing banking regulation or supervisory policies.

Selection Procedure

Appointment and Employment Conditions
