Main Responsibilities
- Policy Development: Lead the creation of guidelines and binding technical standards in remuneration and corporate governance.
- Internal Support: Assist internal committees and subgroups, particularly in the preparation of reports and policy stances.
- External Representation: Represent the EBA externally in technical discussions and forums.
- Consultation and Training: Facilitate external consultations, training, and impact assessments for new regulations.
- Coordination: Cooperate with other ESAs to ensure coordinated and possibly joint policy positions.
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Language: Proficiency in at least one EU language (English is required) and satisfactory knowledge in another.
- Nationality: Must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
- Legal Rights: Full rights as a citizen and no criminal record.
- Military Service: Have fulfilled any applicable military service obligations.
- Physical Fitness: Be physically fit for the role.
2. Qualifications
- Education: Completed university studies (diploma) and at least one year of professional experience if the normal duration is 3 years, or no professional experience required if the normal duration is 4 years or more.
- Recognition: Qualifications must be from EU or EEA authorities or recognized as equivalent.
- Non-EU Education: Must be recognized by an EU Member State authority.
3. Professional Experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant full-time professional experience (for 3-year education) or 6 years (for 4-year education).
- At least 4 years of experience in bank regulation or supervision.
- Experience is counted from the date of diploma award up to the application deadline.
4. Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in a second EU language.
- Knowledge of other EU languages is advantageous.

Selection Procedure

Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract Type: Temporary fixed-term contract of 3 years with a probation period of 9 months and possible extension.

- Function Group and Grade: Grade AD 7, with an estimated monthly basic salary of €5,612.65.
- Remuneration: Details are outlined in Articles 62–70 and Annex VII of the Staff Regulations.
- Tax: Salaries are exempt from national tax, with a Community tax at source applied.

Important Note: Appeals to the Ombudsman do not suspend the time limit for the Civil Service Tribunal. The selection board's decisions are final and cannot be amended by the appointing authority.
