The European Banking Authority (EBA) is an independent EU authority established in 2011 under Regulation (EC) No. 1093/2010, with subsequent amendments. Main Responsibilities
The Communications Assistant will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and developing EBA websites and online communications
- Supporting the publication cycle of EBA outputs (technical documents, multimedia, and design)
- Managing web content, usability, and online best practices
- Coordinating web-related projects, including the public website, extranet, email alerts, newsletters, and multimedia
- Administering public email boxes and handling inquiries
- Providing periodic web metrics reporting and analysis
- Supporting the strategic development of EBA's digital platforms
- Assisting in general administration, finance, and office duties
- Executing other organizational tasks as needed
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway
- Must have full citizen rights and have fulfilled any military service obligations
- Must be physically fit for the role
- Must provide a certificate of no criminal record and undergo a medical examination
2. Qualifications
- Completed university studies of at least three years, with a diploma
- Qualifications must be from EU/EEA authorities or recognized as equivalent
- If obtained outside the EU, must be recognized by a relevant EU authority
3. Professional Experience
- At least 3 years of full-time professional experience in communications
- Experience in web content management, online publications, and multimedia production
4. Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken)
- Native English speakers must prove proficiency in a second EU language
5. Selection Criteria
- Proven experience in web activities and content management
- Knowledge of online and web communication principles
- Experience in publication production and web usability standards
- Ability to manage workload independently and under pressure
- Strong communication and team-working skills
Selection Procedure
- A selection committee will evaluate applications based on eligibility and selection criteria
- Shortlisted candidates may be invited for written tests and interviews
- Written tests are in English and assess communication skills, knowledge, and drafting ability (minimum score: 6 out of 10)
- Interviews are in English and evaluate suitability, knowledge, and motivation (minimum score: 6 out of 10)
- Candidates with a total score of 12 or above may be placed on a reserve list valid until 31 December 2016
Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract type: Fixed-term agent contract for 3 years, with a 9-month probation period and possible extension
- Function group: IV, with a minimum estimated monthly basic salary of €3,246.70
- Salary is exempt from national tax, with Community tax at source
- Additional benefits may include expatriation, household, and dependent child allowances, depending on family situation and origin
- Annual leave: 2 days per calendar month plus supplementary home leave (2.5 days)
- Pension scheme: EU Pension Scheme after 10 years of service
- Health and insurance coverage: EU Joint Sickness and Insurance Scheme, accident and occupational disease insurance, unemployment and invalidity allowance
- Travel insurance for missions
