The European Banking Authority (EBA), established in 2011 under Regulation (EC) No. 1093/2010 and later amended by Regulation (EU) No 1022/2013, is an independent EU authority responsible for enhancing the functioning of the EU internal market by ensuring high-quality, effective, and consistent regulation and supervision in the areas of banking, payments, and e-money. Main Responsibilities
The Event Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Planning, organizing, and coordinating a variety of events, including meetings, press conferences, seminars, and workshops.
- Arranging logistics for event venues.
- Providing administrative support during the event planning and execution process.
- Managing participant registrations and related documentation.
- Verifying registration forms and handling refund processes.
- Booking and setting up meeting rooms and ensuring technical equipment is available.
- Managing event budgets and acting as an operational initiator for all related transactions.
- Liaising with catering companies to ensure the timely supply of refreshments meeting required standards.
Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Language: Proficiency in one EU language and satisfactory knowledge in another.
- Nationality: Must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
- Rights: Must have full citizen rights.
- Military Service: Must have fulfilled any applicable military service obligations.
- Health: Must be physically fit for the role.
- Background Check: Must provide a certificate of no criminal record and undergo a medical examination.
Qualifications
- A post-secondary education diploma or a secondary education diploma with access to post-secondary education and at least three years of relevant professional experience.
- Qualifications must be from EU/EEA authorities or recognized as equivalent by them.
- If studies were completed outside the EU, they must be recognized by an EU/EEA authority.
Professional Experience
- At least two years of proven full-time experience in a comparable position.
- Experience is counted from the date of diploma award to the application deadline.
Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in a second EU language.
Selection Criteria
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Experience in event organization and support.
- Budget planning, management, and monitoring.
- Coordination of suppliers.
- Management of internal and external stakeholders.

Selection Procedure
- Selection Committee: Composed of members, with the composition communicated to applicants.

- Reserve List: Candidates scoring 12 or above may be placed on a reserve list valid until 31/12/2016, which may be renewed.
Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract: Fixed-term for three years, with a nine-month probation period and possible extension.
- Start Date: Expected to begin on 1 September 2016.
- Function Group and Grade: Group III, with a monthly minimum basic salary of €2,536.18.
- Benefits: Includes salary exemption from national tax, Community tax at source, and various allowances (expatriation, household, child, etc.), as well as leave entitlement, pension, insurance, and travel coverage.
