Position: Bank Expert (Assessment of Regulatory Equivalence)
This position is a secondment from a national supervisory authority, focusing on the assessment of regulatory and supervisory equivalence of non-EU jurisdictions with the EU framework.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of regulatory and supervisory frameworks of non-EU jurisdictions
- Prepare complex reports and EBA opinions on equivalence
- Coordinate equivalence assessments with a network of EU experts
- Communicate with non-EU supervisory authorities and collect necessary information
- Represent the EBA externally in technical matters
- Support internal committees and subgroups
- Participate in other oversight activities of the EBA
Eligibility Criteria
General
- Proficient in one EU language and satisfactory knowledge of another
- National of an EU Member State, EFTA Member State, or a country with which the EU has opened accession negotiations
- Full citizen rights
Specific
1.2.1 Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of university education, with a diploma
- Qualifications must be from EU, EEA, or recognized as equivalent by relevant authorities
1.2.2 Professional Experience
- At least five years of full-time professional experience in bank regulation, supervision, or similar roles
- Experience counted from the date of diploma award to the application deadline
1.2.3 Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken)
- Native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in a second language

- Detailed knowledge of EU banking regulation, particularly CRR and CRD
- Experience in drafting complex reports
- Experience in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders

Appointment and Secondment Conditions

Secondment Allowances
- Daily and monthly subsistence allowances (set annually by the Commission)
- Adjusted based on exchange rates and the UK country correction coefficient
