Overview
The European Banking Authority (EBA), established on 1 January 2011 by Regulation (EC) No. 1093/2010 and later amended by Regulation (EU) No 1022/2013, is an independent EU authority responsible for ensuring a high-quality, effective, and consistent level of regulation and supervision in the banking, payments, and e-money sectors. Policy Expert Position (Supervisory Reporting)
The EBA is seeking a Policy Expert on secondment to work on the Single Rulebook Q&A process related to the Implementing Technical Standard (ITS) on supervisory reporting (Regulation (EU) No 680/2014), particularly in the context of the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) and Capital Requirements Directive (CRD).
Main Responsibilities
- Support the Single Rulebook Q&A process for addressing stakeholder questions
- Ensure efficient execution and administration of the Q&A process
- Prepare policy stances and provide advice for consistent application of reporting standards
- Support internal committees and subgroups in supervisory reporting
- Represent the EBA externally at a technical level in relevant areas
- Collaborate with the EBA's IT team and other staff on reporting requirements and data modeling
- Contribute to other EBA oversight activities
Eligibility Criteria

General Requirements
- Fluency in one EU language and satisfactory knowledge in another
- Nationality of an EU Member State, EFTA Member State, or a country with which the EU has initiated accession negotiations
- Full rights as a citizen

Specific Requirements
- At least three years of higher education (university-level studies) with a diploma
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in bank regulation, supervision, or similar roles in the banking sector
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken)
Selection Criteria
- Proven knowledge of EU banking regulation (CRR/CRD)
- Experience in drafting policy stances or regulatory texts
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience engaging with stakeholders in EU legislative processes
- Knowledge of accounting and supervisory reporting

Duration and Conditions
- Duration: Minimum 12 months, up to 24 months, renewable

- Employer Obligations: Must continue to pay salary and maintain social rights (including social security and pension)
Secondment Allowances
- Daily and monthly subsistence allowances (as set by the Commission)
- Allowances are adjusted based on exchange rates and the UK country correction coefficient
