The European Banking Authority (EBA) is an independent EU authority established in 2011 under Regulation (EC) No. 1093/2010, with subsequent amendments. It is part of the European Supervisory Framework for Solvency (ESFS) and collaborates closely with other supervisory bodies such as EIOPA, ESMA, the Joint Committee, and the ESRB.

The EBA is currently seeking an IT XBRL Expert to support the development and maintenance of XBRL taxonomies and Data Point Models (DPM) for the EU banking sector. This role is under the responsibility of the Head of the IT Unit and involves a wide range of technical and consultative tasks related to XBRL standards and regulatory reporting.

Main Responsibilities

• Development and Maintenance: Create and maintain XBRL Taxonomy and DPM according to XBRL standards and EBA methodologies.
• Optimization: Develop programs to enhance the efficiency of XBRL Taxonomy development.
• Consultation: Provide guidance to business users and IT teams on XBRL technologies.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain documentation related to XBRL standards and deliverables.
• Testing and Quality Control: Conduct testing and ensure the quality of DPM and Taxonomy.
• Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve technical issues related to XBRL Taxonomy and applications.

Key Requirements

1. Eligibility Criteria

• Language Proficiency: Thorough knowledge of one EU language and satisfactory knowledge of another.
• Nationality: Must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
• Civic Rights: Full rights as a citizen and no criminal record.
• Military Service: Compliance with applicable laws on military service.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform the duties of the post.

2. Qualifications

• Education: Completed university studies (at least 3 years, with 1 year of professional experience, or 4 years or more with no professional experience required).
• Recognition: Qualifications must be recognized by EU or EEA authorities or equivalent.
• International Experience: If studies were completed outside the EU, they must be recognized by an EU authority.

3. Professional Experience

• Total Experience: At least 10 years (for a 3-year education) or 9 years (for a 4-year education) of professional experience.
• Technical Experience: Minimum 6 years in a technical role in the financial sector, including at least 2 years in XBRL taxonomy creation or enhancement.

4. Language Skills

• English: Excellent knowledge is required.
• Other Languages: Knowledge of other EU official languages is an advantage.

Selection Criteria

• XBRL Expertise: Proven experience and knowledge in XBRL.
• Taxonomy and DPM Development: Strong skills in developing XBRL Taxonomy and DPM.
• Business Knowledge: Understanding of business topics relevant to supervisory roles.
• Software Integration: Experience in integrating taxonomies with third-party XBRL software.
• Programming Skills: Experience in at least one programming language.
• XBRL Tools: Proficiency in at least two XBRL tools.

Selection Procedure

Appointment and Employment Conditions

• Contract Type: Temporary fixed-term contract of 3 years, with a 9-month probation period and possible extension.

• Salary: Estimated monthly basic salary of €6,350.35.
