The EBA is currently seeking an IT XBRL Expert for a secondment position at its London office, aiming to strengthen its capacity in data collection, storage, and management for regulatory reporting under CRD IV.
Main Purpose
The primary objective of the IT XBRL Expert position is to support the EBA in the development and maintenance of XBRL taxonomies and the Data Point Model (DPM) for the EU banking sector. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and enhancing data reporting standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop XBRL Taxonomy using existing market tools.
- Develop DPM in accordance with European Supervisory Authorities' standards.
- Consult with business users and IT departments on XBRL technologies.
- Prepare documentation and standards for XBRL.
- Test and perform quality control on DPM and Taxonomies.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve bugs and incidents in XBRL Taxonomies.
- Develop supporting documentation for Taxonomies.
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Fluency in one EU language and satisfactory knowledge in another.
- Nationality of an EU Member State, an EFTA Member State, or a country with which the Council has initiated accession negotiations.
- Full rights as a citizen of the Member State.
2. Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of higher education, with a diploma attesting to completion.
- Qualifications must be recognized by EU or EEA authorities or equivalent.
- If obtained outside the EU, must be officially recognized by a relevant EU Member State authority.
3. Professional Experience
- At least three years of proven professional experience in a technical role relevant to the job description.
- Experience in XBRL development, Taxonomy and DPM creation, and integration into third-party XBRL software is essential.
- Advantageous experience in FINREP or COREP, Regulatory Reporting, and XBRL certification.
4. Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
- Native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in a second EU language.
5. Competencies
- Ability to manage workload independently.
- Flexibility and quick learning ability.
- Resourcefulness in identifying information and strong problem-solving skills.
- Good team-player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under time pressure.

Appointment and Conditions of Engagement
- The position is a secondment from a national supervisory authority or an IGO (international governmental organization).
- The secondment period ranges from six months to two years, renewable.

- The employer is responsible for salary and social rights, including social security and pension.
- The expected starting date is 1 January 2014.
Conditions of Secondment
- The candidate will receive daily and monthly subsistence allowances as set by the Commission.
- The secondment can start as soon as possible, with the deadline for applications being 24 October 2014 at 12:00 noon London time.
