The European Banking Authority (EBA) is seeking an IT Reporting Expert to support the development and maintenance of its reporting framework and data analytics solutions. Main Purpose
The IT Reporting Expert will:
- Contribute to the evolution of the EBA data dictionary (DPM) using best data modelling practices.
- Create and optimize new XBRL taxonomies.
- Design, implement, and maintain BI and data analytics solutions.
- Perform testing, quality control, and troubleshooting.
- Provide end user training and support.
- Ensure proper configuration management and change controls are in place.
Main Responsibilities
- Support EBA business in developing the DPM.
- Perform quality checks on new DPM releases.
- Support production of DPM outputs for publication.
- Maintain and evolve the DPM database.
- Develop and optimize XBRL taxonomies.
- Test and perform quality control on new taxonomies and related applications.
- Produce supporting documentation for taxonomies.
- Conduct business analysis to gather BI system requirements.
- Translate business requirements into specifications for data mart, cube, or dashboard design.
- Use ETL tools to load data into stores, warehouses, or marts.
- Design, build, and deploy BI/data analytics solutions.
- Maintain and support data analytics platforms.
- Work with XML and JSON data exchange standards.
- Conduct unit and integration testing and troubleshooting.
- Ensure availability and performance of BI environments.
- Implement configuration management and change controls.
- Provide end user training and support.
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a national of a Member State of the European Union or a national of the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway).
- Must be entitled to full rights as a citizen.
- Must have fulfilled any military service obligations.
- Must have thorough knowledge of one EU official language and satisfactory knowledge of another.
- Must be physically fit for the duties.
2. Qualifications
- Must have completed university studies (minimum 3 years) or equivalent (minimum 4 years).
- Must have at least 10 years (for 3-year education) or 9 years (for 4-year education) of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a technical role related to regulatory reporting in the financial sector.
3. Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in a second EU language.
4. Selection Criteria
- Minimum 5 years of experience in analysis and design of supervision/statistical systems.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data modelling (relational and multidimensional).
- Experience in building BI/analytical solutions.
- Experience with EBA Data Point Model.
- Experience with XBRL taxonomies and tools.
- Experience in .NET or JAVA development.
- Experience in building metadata-driven solutions.
Advantages:
- Experience in EBA Reporting Framework (e.g., FINREP, COREP).
- Experience with SQL Server RDBMS and Microsoft BI platform (AS, IS, RS, Power BI).
- Experience with MDX or DAX expressions.
- Experience in EU/multicultural/international environments.

Selection Procedure
- The selection committee will assess applications based on eligibility and selection criteria.

Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract Type: Temporary Agent fixed-term contract, 3 years with a probation period of 9 months and possible extension.
- Estimated Start Date: 1 June 2019.
- Function Group and Grade: AD 8.
- Estimated Monthly Basic Salary: € 6,934.02.
- Remuneration: Exempt from national tax, Union tax at source applies. Includes correction coefficient for Paris, France.
