Mission of the EBA
The EBA aims to:
- Improve the functioning of the EU internal market
- Ensure high-quality, effective, and consistent regulation and supervision in banking, payments, and e-money
- Promote public values such as financial system stability, market transparency, and protection of depositors and investors
- Prevent regulatory arbitrage and ensure a level playing field
- Strengthen international supervisory coordination and promote supervisory convergence
- Provide advice to EU institutions on financial regulation and related governance, auditing, and reporting issues
Main Responsibilities
- Support the EBA's Banking Stakeholder Group and the Board of Supervisors and Management Board
- Coordinate and align EBA policy across departments and units
- Prepare and coordinate policy stances/briefings for EBA representation at meetings with external policy makers and EU institutions
- Collaborate with other EU financial authorities (ESAs) and the ESRB to develop coordinated policy positions
- Execute other tasks as required by the Head of the Policy Coordination Unit
Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Must be a national of an EU Member State, EFTA country, or a country with which the Council has opened accession negotiations and concluded a specific secondment agreement
- Citizenship Rights: Must be entitled to full rights as a citizen
- Language Skills: Must have thorough knowledge of one EU official language and satisfactory knowledge of another
- Employment Status: Must be employed by:
- A member of the European System of Financial Supervision (ESFS)
- A country with which the Council has opened accession negotiations and concluded a specific secondment agreement
- A public intergovernmental organisation
- Work Experience: At least 12 months of work (permanent or contract) with the employer prior to secondment
- Employer Support: Must have a signed letter of support from the employer
Qualifications
- Must have a degree equivalent to at least three years of university studies
- Must have at least 3 years of relevant full-time professional experience in fields related to the job description
Language Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken)
- Native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in a second language
Selection Criteria
- Proven knowledge of EU banking regulation
- Experience in drafting policy or regulatory documents
- Experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience in working in an EU/multicultural/international environment

Selection Procedure
- Selection Committee: Composed of members; candidates will be informed of its composition before interviews

Appointment and Conditions of Secondment

- Allowances: Daily and monthly subsistence allowances are provided by the EBA, based on exchange rates and a country correction coefficient (116.7% for France)
