The European Banking Authority (EBA) is an independent EU authority established in 2011 under Regulation (EC) No 1093/2010 and amended by Regulation (EU) No 1022/2013. The EBA is currently seeking a Policy Coordination Expert on secondment for its Policy Analysis and Coordination Unit in London, United Kingdom. This position is open to candidates from national supervisory authorities or international governmental organizations (IGOs) within the ESFS, and the secondment is expected to last a minimum of twelve to twenty-four months, with the possibility of renewal.
Main Purpose
The Policy Coordination Expert will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the alignment of EBA policy positions internally and with external stakeholders.
- Supporting the EBA's Banking Stakeholder Group and its peer review activities.
- Preparing and coordinating policy briefings for EBA representation at external meetings.
- Facilitating cooperation with other ESAs and the ESRB to develop coordinated policy stances and recommendations.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in the EBA's peer review process.
- Provide support to the Banking Stakeholder Group.
- Coordinate and align EBA policy across different departments and units.
- Prepare policy stances and responses for external meetings and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other financial regulatory authorities in the EU and internationally.
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Language proficiency: Must have thorough knowledge of one EU language and satisfactory knowledge of another.
- Nationality: Must be a national of an EU Member State, an EFTA Member State, or a country with which the Council has opened accession negotiations.
- Citizenship rights: Must be entitled to full rights as a citizen.
2. Educational Qualifications
- Must have completed university studies of at least three years, evidenced by a diploma.
- Qualifications must be from EU, EEA, or recognized as equivalent by relevant authorities.
- If obtained outside the EU, must be recognized by a European Union Member State authority.
3. Professional Experience
- At least three years of full-time professional experience in banking, payments, e-money, or related fields.
- Experience must be counted from the date of obtaining the diploma up to the closing date of the application.
4. Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in a second EU language.
5. Selection Criteria
- Proven knowledge of EU banking regulation.
- Experience in drafting policy or regulatory documents.
- Experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience in an EU/multicultural/international environment.
6. Competencies
- Ability to manage workload independently.

Appointment and Engagement
