Main Responsibilities

Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria

- Must have thorough knowledge of one official EU language and satisfactory knowledge of another.
- Must be physically fit to perform the duties.
2. Qualifications
- Must have completed university studies (either with a diploma from a four-year program or with a diploma from a three-year program and at least one year of professional experience).
- Must have at least 20 years of full-time professional experience, with at least 5 years in the financial regulation or supervision field.
3. Language Knowledge
- Must have excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must demonstrate second language proficiency.
4. Age Limit
- Must be able to complete the five-year term before reaching retirement age (66 years).
Selection Criteria
- Thorough knowledge of sectors relevant to EBA activities.
- Proven expertise in financial regulation and/or supervision at national, European, or international level.
- Understanding of EU institutions and decision-making processes.
- Excellent knowledge of the European political and legal environment.
- Proven negotiation experience at European and international levels.
- Experience in directing an organization with significant tasks and objectives.

Selection Procedure
- A selection committee will be formed.
- Pre-selection interviews will be conducted with up to six candidates.
- The shortlist of three candidates will be submitted to the EBA Board of Supervisors.
- The three shortlisted candidates will present on a pre-defined topic and be interviewed by the Board.
- The European Parliament will confirm the final appointment.
Conditions of Employment
- Contract type: Temporary agent on a fixed-term contract of five years, with a probation period of nine months.
- Estimated starting date: 1 April 2019.
- Function group and grade: AD 15, with a monthly basic salary of €16,183.53.
- Remuneration package: Includes Union tax, correction coefficient for Paris, and various benefits such as expatriation allowance, household allowance, and travel insurance.
- Annual leave: Two days per calendar month plus additional days for age, grade, and supplementary home leave.
- Pension scheme: EU Pension Scheme after 10 years of service.
