The European Banking Authority (EBA) is an independent EU authority established on 1 January 2011 under Regulation (EC) No. 1093/2010, with subsequent amendments by Regulation (EU) No 1022/2013. Main Responsibilities
- Supporting home-host coordination and participating in supervisory colleges of individual banking groups.
- Providing feedback and guidance to national competent authorities and developing tools for efficient supervision.
- Contributing to consistent recovery planning and supervisory methods for cross-border banking groups.
- Monitoring policy developments related to supervision and ensuring coherent functioning of supervisory and resolution colleges.
- Preparing and coordinating good practices and assisting competent authorities and banks.
- Facilitating briefings for EBA representation in meetings with external stakeholders.
- Performing other duties as required.
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
- Must have full citizen rights and have fulfilled military service obligations if applicable.
- Must be physically fit for the role.
- Must provide a criminal record certificate and undergo a medical examination.
2. Qualifications
- Must have completed university studies with a diploma.
- Option a: At least 3 years of education and 1 year of professional experience.
- Option b: At least 4 years of education and no additional professional experience required.
- Qualifications must be recognized by EU or EEA authorities or equivalent.
3. Professional Experience
- At least 7 years (for option a) or 6 years (for option b) of relevant full-time professional experience in banking, payments, e-money, or related fields.
- Experience is counted from the date of diploma to the application deadline.
- PhD studies may count as professional experience if they were paid or supported by study grants.
4. Language Skills
- Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken).
- Native English speakers must prove second language proficiency.
- Knowledge of other EU official languages is considered an advantage.
Selection Criteria
- Knowledge of EU banking regulation, especially related to cross-border supervision.
- Experience or knowledge in supervision of cross-border banking groups and supervisory/resolution colleges.
- Experience in financial analysis or risk assessment of financial institutions.

Selection Procedure
- Establishment of a selection committee.

- Final ranking based on total score, with the best candidates recruited.

Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract type: Temporary agent fixed-term contract of three years, with a probation period of nine months and possibility of extension.
- Expected start date: 1 November 2014.
- Grade: AD 7.
- Estimated monthly basic salary: €5612.65.
