报告摘要
New Zealand is pursuing ambitious clean energy policies, including a 2050 net-zero emissions target with a 2030 reduction of 50% from 2005 levels. The country leads in renewable electricity (81% in 2021, mostly hydro and geothermal), but face challenges decarbonizing transport and industry, which are highly emissions-intensive. A 100% renewable electricity goal by 2030 requires massive grid expansion and energy storage projects like the NZ Battery Project.
The Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) is the main emissions policy but has issues with weak carbon prices due to surplus supply. New energy efficiency measures and support for low-carbon industries are being implemented, alongside a Gas Transition Plan to phase out natural gas. Brexit decisions and oil market policies are introducing economic challenges. The long-term Energy Strategy remains unfinished, hindering necessary investments and creating uncertainty for key sectors. Key recommendations emphasize policy clarification, timely strategic development, and support for renewable technologies.
