Main Responsibilities
The Junior Policy Expert (Impact Assessment) will support the EBA's regulatory, oversight, and consumer protection activities by:
- Conducting impact assessments for guidelines, recommendations, opinions, and binding technical standards.
- Analyzing the costs and benefits of policy options.
- Participating in working groups and representing the EBA at a technical level.
- Collaborating with other ESAs and the ESRB.
- Performing economic analysis of proposed technical standards and supervisory recommendations.
- Executing other related tasks as required.
Requirements
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Language Proficiency: Thorough knowledge of one EU language and satisfactory knowledge of another.
- Nationality: Must be a national of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
- Citizenship Rights: Full rights as a citizen.
- Military Service: Obligations fulfilled.
- Physical Fitness: Fit to perform duties.
- Documentation: Must provide a certificate of no criminal record and pass a medical examination.
2. Specific Qualifications
- Education: At least three years of university studies in economics or a related field, with a diploma.
- Recognition: Qualifications must be from EU/EEA authorities or recognized as equivalent.
- International Recognition: If studies were abroad, the qualification must be recognized by an EU/EEA authority.
3. Professional Experience
- Experience: At least 3 years of full-time professional experience in bank regulation, banking supervision, or economic research.
- Timeframe: From the date of diploma award to the application deadline.
- PhD Consideration: PhD studies may count as professional experience if they were on a paid basis (e.g., study grant or internship grant), up to a maximum of three years.
4. Language Skills
- English: Excellent knowledge is required, both written and spoken.
- Second Language: Native English speakers must prove proficiency in a second EU language.
5. Selection Criteria
- Knowledge: Proven knowledge of EU banking regulation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders.

Selection Procedure
The selection process includes:

Appointment and Employment Conditions
- Contract Type: Temporary fixed-term contract of three years with a nine-month probation period and possible extension.
- Starting Date: Expected to be 1 May 2014, though a short notice start is possible.
- Grade: AD 6.
- Salary: Estimated monthly basic salary of €4,921.28, subject to a correction coefficient of 39.2% for the UK.
