Executive Summary

The 54th meeting of the WHO International Working Group for Drug Statistics Methodology was held in Geneva from October 24-25, 2023. ATC Classification Items

• Established new 4th and 5th level codes for substances like sparsentan, isocitrate dehydrogenase inhibitors (e.g., enasidenib), and updates for antibiotic combinations and vamorolone.
• Maintained previous decisions on the classification of efanesoctocog alfa, sodium thiosulfate, and others.
• Addressed delegations to avoid assigning ATC codes for substances whose use is not well established.

Defined Daily Dose Items

• Approved the rationale and approach for new DDD derivations.
• Assigned DDDs for nine new single substances and five combination products.
• Discussed but likely did not approve altering DDDs for certain antineoplastic drugs due to individualized dosing, though the process for L01 group was initiated.
