Key Tasks for the Trainee
The trainee will be involved in the following tasks:
- Supporting policy experts in the analysis of quantitative data.
- Assisting in the drafting of reports and the development of guidelines and binding technical standards as part of the EU common rulebook.
- Contributing to the development of an analysis toolbox in SAS for assessing capital requirements under the IRB (Internal Rating-Based) approach.
- Participating in ongoing activities within the CREMOP Policy Unit.
These tasks will provide the trainee with hands-on experience in financial regulation and policy development, particularly in the areas of risk modeling and capital requirements.
Requirements for Applicants
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Good SAS and Excel Skills: Proficiency in using these tools for data analysis.
- Quantitative Background: A strong foundation in quantitative methods or related disciplines.
- Familiarity with/Interest in Banking Regulation: Specifically, knowledge or interest in internal rating models or market risk models.
These skills and knowledge areas are essential for effectively supporting the policy work of the CREMOP Policy Unit.
Selection Process and Timeline
- Mentor: The Head of the CREMOP Policy Unit will oversee the trainee's development.
- Expected Start Date: The trainee is expected to begin in January – March 2016.
