The 2009 Guatemala (Rest of Country) Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS) was a school-based survey conducted among students in grades primo, segundo, and cercero basico (approximately 6th to 9th grades). The survey aimed to measure various health-related behaviors, including alcohol use, dietary habits, hygiene practices, mental health status, physical activity levels, and sexual behaviors. The data was collected using a two-stage cluster sampling method to ensure representativeness across the country.

Methodology

Sampling Method: Two-stage cluster sample design.
- First stage: Schools were selected with probability proportional to enrollment size.
- Second stage: Classes were randomly selected, and all students in these classes were eligible to participate.

- Overall response rate: 83%
