报告摘要
Mexico-Queretaro conducted a Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) in 2008, focusing on students aged 13-15. The survey used a two-stage cluster sampling design, with 1488 students from 1st to 3rd Secondary and 1st High School participating, achieving high response rates. Key findings show that 53.5% of students had ever smoked cigarettes, with higher rates among boys. Currently, 23.1% use any tobacco product, 18.6% smoke cigarettes, and 9.5% use other tobacco products. Among never-smokers, 24.4% are likely to start smoking next year. Factors influencing tobacco use include access, price, and exposure; for instance, 40.7% bought cigarettes without age refusal, and 33% live in homes where others smoke. Attitudes indicate that 88% think smoking should be banned from public places, and 84.9% believe secondhand smoke is harmful to themselves. Media exposure shows that 89.3% saw anti-smoking messages, though 83.9% also saw pro-cigarette ads. Schools played a role, with 73% taught about tobacco dangers in the past year.
