报告摘要
This report summarizes the 2010 Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS) in Morocco, which focused on health behaviors and factors among students aged 13-15 years. The survey used a two-stage cluster sampling design with a 100% school response rate and 92% student response rate, involving 2924 students from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Prep grades.
Key areas assessed include dietary behaviors, drug use, hygiene, mental health, physical activity, protective factors, tobacco use, and violence/unintentional injury. Results for the 13-15 age group show significant issues: high rates of overweight and obesity, frequent consumption of carbonated soft drinks, early initiation of drug use, poor hand hygiene, high prevalence of suicidal ideation and attempts, low physical activity levels, and common experiences of physical fights and bullying. Gender differences are evident, with girls reporting higher rates of obesity and suicidal behavior, while boys have higher rates of violence.
Notable findings suggest potential public health concerns, such as rising obesity and mental health challenges, highlighting the need for targeted interventions in schools and communities.
