Fall 2021 International Student Enrollment Snapshot: Key Findings

• Recruitment: U.S. institutions prioritize recruitment efforts targeting India (56%) and China (51%) and leverage current international students (64%), online recruitment events (55%), social media (55%), and financial support has remained stable or increased (77%).

The findings highlight resilience in U.S. higher education international enrollment post-pandemic, with a return to in-person study, though disparities persist, particularly affecting Associate's colleges and potentially reflecting the differential impact of COVID-19 on various institutional types. The report underscores the continued economic and cultural value of international students to U.S. higher education.
