报告摘要
Summary of GYTS 2008 in Bosnia and Herzegovina for Ages 13-15
The Global Youth Tobacco Survey conducted in 2008 found high rates of tobacco use among 13-15-year-olds in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with 42.2% of surveyed students ever smoked cigarettes and 11.7% currently using tobacco. Boys had higher smoking rates (e.g., 47.9% ever smoked) compared to girls. Prevalence was influenced by easy access to tobacco: 62.6% bought cigarettes without issue, and access was common. Secondhand smoke exposure was widespread, with 77.3% living in homes where others smoked and 84.0% exposed outside home. Young people showed mixed views on tobacco: 67.9% thought smoking should be banned from public places, but 27.5% of never smokers intended to start next year. Cessation efforts were low, though many smokers (68.9%) tried to quit recently. Media exposure involved 88.1% seeing anti-smoking messages but 67.5% seeing pro-cigarette ads on billboards; only 63.2% were taught about smoking dangers in school recently. The high prevalence highlights urgent need for tobacco control measures targeting youth determinants.
