The World Health Organization (WHO) is calling for US$1.5 billion to address worsening health emergencies driven by intersecting threats of climate change, conflict, and displacement. In 2024, nearly 300 million people require humanitarian health assistance, with at least 15 "Grade 3" emergencies demanding rapid intervention. These emergencies include crises in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Haiti, and other regions, exacerbated by extreme weather events, food insecurity, and disease outbreaks.

Key threats include climate-related disasters, leading to increased infectious diseases, malnutrition, and waterborne illnesses. Conflicts further disrupt health services, displace populations, and heighten risks to maternal, child, and community health. WHO's response involves coordinating with partners, deploying specialized supplies, strengthening health systems, and advocating for vulnerable populations.

Despite funding challenges, WHO aims to save lives and build resilience. Contributions to the appeal support response efforts, with an urgent need for donor support to ensure fully funded operations and prevent avoidable suffering.
