报告摘要
This document is an Addendum 1 to the INN guidelines, dated 15/06/2012, based on WHO/EMP/QSM/2011.3. It provides a cumulative update of new stems for selecting International Nonproprietary Names (INN) since the original publication in 2011.
Key updates include:
- New stems for bradykinin receptor antagonists, such as -tibant (e.g., anatibant, deltibant).
- New stems for proteasome inhibitors, such as -zomib (e.g., bortezomib, carfilzomib).
- An updated nomenclature for gene therapy products adopting a two-word name approach: Word 1 (gene component) and Word 2 (vector component, e.g., -vec for viral vectors). Prefixes, infixes, and suffixes are defined, covering categories like cytosine deaminase, growth factors, interleukins, thymidine kinase, and others.
- Specific guidelines for naming non-plasmid DNA products (no second word needed) and antisense oligonucleotides (refer to existing -rsen stem). This Addendum incorporates all stems selected since 2011 by the INN Expert Group.
