The document also notes the adoption of a new naming scheme for monoclonal antibodies, effective since the 73rd INN Consultation.

Amendments to existing stems:

• -cianine redefined under diagnostic imaging agents
• -ilide definition corrected but maintained for class III antiarrhythmics
• -kalim definition expanded but unchanged for antihypertensives

• -tant and -netant refined for neurokinin receptor antagonists
• -tirom(e) note discourages use of (e) to avoid conflict with -terone
• Infixes -gromab and -ki- modified for monoclonal antibody designations
