Based on the "Statistical Law of the People's Republic of China," this system aims to implement the "Overall Layout Plan for Digital China," clarify the nation's data resource inventory, and provide data for trend analysis and policy formulation. The investigation targets national agencies, enterprises, institutions, and social groups across the country (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), focusing on data production, storage, circulation, application, and security. Annually reported, it uses a combination of comprehensive and targeted approaches, organized by the National Data Administration with participation from the Ministry of Public Security and the State Administration for Financial Regulation.
