GATS Summary: Ukraine 2010
Core Content
The Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) is a globally standardized tool for monitoring adult tobacco use and tracking key tobacco control indicators. It is designed to support countries in designing, implementing, and evaluating tobacco control programs and fulfilling their obligations under the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). Ukraine participated in GATS in 2010, conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KlIS), using a multi-stage, geographically clustered sample design to ensure nationally representative data. A total of 8,173 completed interviews were collected, with a household response rate of 80.1%, a person response rate of 95.1%, and an overall response rate of 76.2%.
