报告摘要
China's overseas investment in the first three quarters of 2022 showed relative stability despite global economic challenges. Outward direct investment totaled $106.77 billion, a 0.3% year-on-year decrease but a 10% increase from the previous quarter. Non-financial direct investment rose by 6.3% to $85.85 billion, with significant growth in sectors like leasing and business services. Investment in the Belt and Road Initiative increased by 5.2% to $15.65 billion, primarily in ASEAN, Pakistan, and other countries.
Overseas mergers and acquisitions reached a historic low of $23.45 billion, down 49% year-on-year, with 379 transactions compared to 398 in the previous year. Key sectors included TMT, advanced manufacturing, and healthcare, while mining and metals saw the largest growth. Asia remained the top destination, whereas Europe experienced a sharp decline due to geopolitical tensions like the Russia-Ukraine war.
Outward engineering, procurement, and construction contracts totaled $147.07 billion, down 7.9% year-on-year, reflecting a shift towards smaller, manageable projects that are easier to finance and align with民生 needs. The Chinese government's focus on openness and high-quality Belt and Road cooperation provided a supportive policy environment for enterprises to enhance international presence amid economic uncertainties.
