报告摘要
The Croatia Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) conducted in 2007 focused on students aged 13-15 from Primary 7 & 8 and Secondary 1, using a cluster sampling method with a high overall response rate of 90.9% (total participants: 3,531). Key determinants included access to tobacco, secondhand smoke (SHS) exposure, cessation efforts, media advertising, and school-based education. Highlights reveal that 67.1% of students had ever smoked cigarettes, 24.9% currently used any tobacco product, and 24.1% smoked cigarettes, with 8.6% being daily smokers. Notably, 31.1% initiated smoking before age 10, and 19.7% of never smokers were likely to start. Access was high, with 55.5% buying cigarettes in stores, and SHS exposure was widespread, affecting 91.2% of students. For cessation, 66.4% had tried to quit, and 48.9% received help. Media saw anti-smoking messages favored, with near-unanimity supporting public smoking bans (92.0%). School programs covered smoking dangers for most students.
