- Access and availability:
- High access: 52.8% bought cigarettes; 22.3% usually smoked at home; 84.8% lived in homes with smoking; tobacco marketing presence observed.
- Secondhand smoke (SHS) exposure:
- High exposure: 84.8% lived in smoking homes; 80.6% exposed outside home; strong public support for smoking bans (93.7% think smoking should be banned).
- Cessation behaviors:
- Among current smokers: 68.0% want to stop, 80.4% tried to quit, 72.3% received help, low evening cigarette use (1.1% always).
- Media and advertising:
- Anti-smoking messages prevalent: 66.8% saw on TV, 68.1% saw pro-cigarette ads in newspapers; 17.7% owned branded objects; some exposed to tobacco representatives.
- Educational aspects:
- School-based teaching: 65.7% learned about smoking dangers, 55.2% learned effects, with discussion on risks and smoking reasons.
