Key Elements of Industry 5.0

• Regenerative and Circular Economy: Industry 5.0 emphasizes designing out waste, keeping materials in circulation, and regenerating natural systems. This requires a shift from linear "take-make-dispose" models to closed-loop systems.
• Self-Sustaining and Adaptive: Reducing dependency on imports through decentralized systems and fostering redundancy for long-term resilience is critical.
• Digitalized with Purpose: Technology should support planetary boundaries, not just extract value. This includes harnessing AI and blockchain for sustainability.

Governance and Action Plan

The European Strategy for Research and Innovation (ESIR) calls for a "Government 5.0," urging public-private collaboration, policy coherence, and a new corporate governance model. Industry 5.0 requires:
