Introduction
The 2012 Argentina Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS) collected data on various health behaviors and factors among students in grades 8th EGB, 9th EGB, and 1st Pol. Sexual Behaviours
- Past Intercourse: 37% (Boys 44%, Girls 31%) had ever engaged in sexual intercourse.
- Intercourse Timing: 59-77% had first intercourse before age 14.
- Condom Use: 76% used a condom the last time they had intercourse.
Tobacco Use
- Cigarette Use: 19% smoked on at least one day in the past 30 days.
- Early Initiation: 75% started smoking by age 14.
- Exposure: 73% reported smoking around them on several days.
Violence & Unintentional Injury
- Physical Fight: 34% were involved in fights in the past 12 months.
- Injuries: 33% suffered serious injuries in the past year.
- Bullying: 25% were bullied at least once in the past month.
