• Social Norms: Cultural expectations restrict women to stereotypical jobs, and GBV, including sexual exploitation risks in tourism, undermines safety and agency. Education shows high female enrollment, but career progression is hindered.
• Policy Gaps: Existing gender policies are not fully implemented, and data on sex-disaggregated information is scarce, impeding targeted interventions.

Recommendations for Gender-Responsive Tourism

• Strengthen Policies: Develop and update gender-focused action plans, integrate GBV standards, and create a comprehensive tourism policy framework addressing women's needs.
• Enhance Skills and Employment: Provide training programs for women in business management, leadership, and digital tools, supported by childcare services to balance paid and unpaid work.
• Improve Financial Access: Expand access to gender-responsive financial instruments, such as tailored loans and microfinance, for women-led tourism SMEs and other sectors.
