报告摘要
In this content, it describes the WHO-recommended candidate vaccine viruses and reference reagents for the development of influenza vaccines to be used during the 2024 Southern Hemisphere flu season. The focus is on the B Yamagata lineage B-type influenza viruses, with examples including egg-derived versions of B/Phuket/3073/2013 and its reassortants. Antigenic and genetic analyses are performed by WHO Collaborating Centers under the Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS), and all candidate viruses have passed two-way haemagglutination inhibition (HI) tests. National or regional control authorities approve the vaccine compositions and formulations for use. Key institutions involved include NYMC, CDC, MHRA, NIID, and TGA, providing details on virus sources and reference reagents, which are calibrated by WHO Essential Regulatory Laboratories (ERLs). Contact information is provided for ordering candidate vaccine viruses and reference reagents, as well as a date of 29 September 2023 for this recommendation.
