1. Overview and Purpose:

3. Membership (Composition and Criteria):
- Max 20 members serving in their personal capacities.
- Requires diverse technical expertise, geographical representation, and gender balance.
- Appointed by WHO based on an open call for experts.
- Includes a Chair (and Deputies) aiming for gender/geographical representation.
- Appointment Period: Up to 3 years, with possibility of re-election.
- Termination Conditions: Appointed at will if required by WHO; otherwise as per ToR/letter of appointment or by death/resignation.
- Conflicts of Interest (COI) Management:
- Mandatory declaration of interests form before appointment and upon request.
- Appointments must pass COI evaluation by WHO; members must respect independence and avoid external instructions.
