• Demands: MSMEs prioritize equipment purchases (average MNT9.6 million needed), capacity-building in finance and business skills, and improved sales channels.

Interventions and Outcomes

• Capacity Building: Conducted 105 training sessions reaching 1,357 beneficiaries (81% women-owned). Key outcomes: Increased financial literacy (registered companies from 14% to 32%), better financial planning knowledge, and 78% rated training effective.
• Equipment Provision: Provided 353 pieces of equipment worth MNT467 million to 74 MSMEs and three cooperatives. Results: 95% of MSMEs saw 57% revenue increase, 68% created jobs (79% female), and 90% reported customer growth.

Lessons and Recommendations for Replication

• Capacity Building: Expand training on topics like financial products, digital marketing, legal regulations, and crisis management. Include video lessons for remote accessibility and sustain engagement through databases and continuous learning tools.
• Equipment Support: Enhance transparency in grant selection; collaborate with local partners for procurement; and link equipment loans to collateral use.
• Access to Finance and Workplaces: Promote cooperative models, improve access to long-term loans, and develop affordable workplace rentals in subcenters.
• Broader Support: Increase government and NGO collaboration, allocate sustainable budgets for subcenters, and foster vibrant business communities to support economies of scale and market expansion.

The project demonstrates that combined capacity-building and equipment support significantly boost MSME resilience and productivity in post-pandemic Mongolia, offering replicable strategies for other regions.
