This report analyzes the inclusion of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health conditions in United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks (UNSDCFs) for Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Out of 13 country and 2 multi-country frameworks examined, covering 48 SIDS, NCDs are included in 67% of frameworks and 90% of SIDS, while mental health is included in only 13% and affects about 4 SIDS. The analysis shows that 60% of frameworks have NCD-related outcome indicators and 67% have mental health indicators. Evaluation reports indicate progress in NCDs for 79% of frameworks and mental health for 100% of frameworks covered. Trends reveal increased inclusion of NCDs over time, but further efforts are needed to integrate mental health as a strategic priority. The conclusion emphasizes that while NCDs are being addressed, commitments must be translated into action with adequate resources and accountability.
