• Global Engagement: CEM actively participated in major international events like UNEA6, CBD COP16, UNFCCC COP29, UNCCD COP16, and IPBES11, advancing Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and ecosystem governance.
• Policy Contributions: Key outputs include the revision of the IUCN Global Standard for NbS (2.0), the integration of ecosystems into biodiversity frameworks (KMGBF, GBF), and advocacy for a deep-sea mining moratorium.
• Thematic & Specialist Groups: 32+ groups spanned regions, focusing on biodiversity, climate adaptation, cultural practices, and human health, producing over 60 publications and 200+ webinars.
• Youth Involvement: CEM YPN facilitated regional dialogues, webinars, and policy advocacy, engaging over 500 young professionals.
• Restoration & Governance: Prioritized ecosystem restoration (UN Decade goals), red lists assessment (RLE), and governance frameworks for resilient socio-ecological systems.

Notable Outcomes

1. Nature-Based Solutions (NbS)

   • IUCN Standard expanded to 11+ languages; critical UNEA6 & UNGA79 advocacy for NbS in SDGs & climate finance.
   • NbS case studies & tools launched for climate resilience, health, & marine ecosystems.

2. Ecosystem Governance

   • Led red list of ecosystems (RLE) category updates; integrated RLE into KMGBF monitoring indicators.
   • Collaborated on global standards (e.g. deep-sea mining governance, wetland code).

3. Youth & Capacity Building

   • Hosted 8 thematic dialogues (climate, restoration, social resilience) and 10+ regional forums.
   • Translated publications into 9 languages (e.g. NbS Standard, global standard).

4. Conservation Milestones

   • First IUCN Global Red List of Mangrove Ecosystems; national RLE assessments (e.g. Italy, India).
   • Rewilding Guidelines drafted; mangrove restoration case studies in South East Asia.
