- International MTO Index: Decreased to 6.29% from 6.46% in Q2 2023.
- Global Weighted Average: Increased to 4.78% from 4.53% in Q2 2023.
- SmaRT Average: Decreased slightly to 3.36% in Q3 2023.
- Lowest Cost Regions:
- South Asia remains the lowest cost receiving region at 5.44%.
- Sub-Saharan Africa remains the most expensive at 7.39% total average cost.
- Service Providers:
- Banks remain the most expensive at 11.48%.
- Mobile Operators are the cheapest at 4.47%.
- Progress Trends:
- The proportion of corridors with costs below 5% increased to 37% in Q3 2023.
- Mobile money is the cheapest method for both funding and disbursing remittances.
- G20 Targets:
- Global average cost target reduced from 5% to 3%.
- Data Collection:
- Excludes corridors originating in Russia due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
- Includes 367 corridors with 21.7 services on average per corridor.
- Prospects Index monitors new services separately.
