报告摘要
The Global School-based Health Survey (GSHS) Kuwait 2011 examined health behaviors among students aged 13-15 years in Kuwait. The survey used a school-based cross-sectional design with a two-stage cluster sampling method, achieving a school response rate of 97% and a student response rate of 88%. Key modules included dietary behaviors, hygiene, mental health, physical activity, protective factors, HIV knowledge, tobacco use, violence, alcohol, and drug use. High rates were found for obesity (22.6%), sedentary behavior (53.2% spent ≥3 hours daily on sitting activities), and mental health issues (18.7% felt lonely, 20.2% worried sleeplessly). Gender disparities were evident, with males showing higher risks for tobacco use, violence, and physical inactivity, while females exhibited higher rates of suicidal ideation and mental health problems. Recommendations emphasized increasing physical activity, promoting healthy eating, implementing anti-smoking and substance use programs, enhancing mental health support, and strengthening parental and community involvement.
