Summary: Status of A(H7) Candidate Vaccine Viruses and Potency Testing Reagents

This report provides an update on the development, availability, and status of influenza A(H7) candidate vaccine viruses (CVVs) and potency testing reagents as of 28 September 2022. Antigenic and genetic analyses are conducted by WHO Collaborating Centres (WH CCs) within the Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS). Most CVVs have passed the two-way haemagglutination inhibition (HI) test, with national or regional authorities approving vaccine composition and formulation.
