Smoking and Tobacco Use Prevalence

Cessation and Quitting
- 64.6% of current smokers want to quit.
- 76.3% tried to stop in the past year; 63.3% received help.

- 62.2% saw anti-smoking TV ads vs. 59.8% saw pro-cigarette ads.
- 46.2% saw anti-smoking ads in print media vs. 62.7% saw pro-cigarette ads.

School Factors
- 54.9% learned about smoking dangers in school; 45.8% discussed reasons for youth smoking; 45.1% learned about tobacco effects.
